Wig Care & Sourcing Guide
How to Choose a Trusted Wholesale Hair Vendor in China
Sourcing from a China wig factory can offer significantly better pricing than buying pre-packaged wholesale lots, but it also means doing more due diligence yourself. Here's what actually separates a trusted hair vendor from a risky one.
1. Ask about hair origin, not just "100% human hair"
"100% human hair" is a marketing claim, not a specification. A serious Remy hair wholesale supplier should be able to tell you the specific origin — raw Indian, Cambodian or Burmese hair, for example — and whether it's single-donor and cuticle-aligned, or blended from multiple sources. Blended hair tangles faster and holds color less predictably.
2. Confirm real OEM/ODM capability
Many trading companies claim OEM/ODM services but are actually reselling from a factory they don't control, which limits how much you can actually customize. An OEM ODM wig manufacturer that owns its own construction workshop should be able to adjust lace type, density, part style and hairline detail to your spec — not just relabel an existing catalog.
3. Check private label and packaging capability
If you're building your own brand, ask specifically about custom packaging for hair extensions and wigs: printed boxes, hair tags, care cards and mannequin-fitted packaging. A private label hair vendor should have done this before and be able to show samples, not just say yes to the question.
4. Understand their MOQ structure
For bulk human hair wholesale orders, a lower per-unit price usually comes with a higher MOQ. Look for a supplier that offers a lower-MOQ sample tier as well as bulk pricing, so you can test quality before committing to a large order — this matters more than chasing the single lowest quoted price.
5. Ask about drop shipping if you need it
Not every drop shipping hair vendor can actually fulfill single-unit orders efficiently — some only quote drop shipping to win the account, then struggle with slow, inconsistent fulfillment once orders start coming in. Ask for their typical single-order lead time specifically, separate from their bulk production lead time.
6. Look for bundles-with-closure availability
If you're selling raw materials rather than finished wigs, check whether the vendor stocks hair bundles with closure wholesale sets that are cut and matched to sell together — sourcing bundles and closures separately from different batches often results in visible color or texture mismatches.
